Monument of Russian architecture XVII in, constructed on money of a merchant of Cyril Isakov. This merchant traded in a paint with England. Once, assorting the received paint, in one of kegs the merchant has found gold. Here on this money the church also has been constructed.

The monastery has based in 1330 the Tatar prince Chetom, ancestor Годуновых. Here are buried-founder Chet and Ivan Susanin who has given a life for the tsar. In monastery territory the set of historical constructions - the Troitsk cathedral (1652), chambers of boyars of Romanovs, звоница, constructed on means Godunovih and many other things has remained. Within the precincts of a monastery there is Kostroma an incorporated istoriko-architectural memorial estate "Ipatevsky monastery" and a museum of wooden architecture.

Earlier it was three monasteries: the Bogojavlensky man's, Krestovozdvizhensky and Anastasiinsky female. The founder of the first aged man Nikita, the pupil of Saint Serge is considered. After a fire in 1847 the man's monastery has been abolished and transferred in conducting female Krestovozdvizhensky. The monastery has been based in XV century by the first wife Ivan Grozny AnastasiyaRomanovna. In 1764 it has been abolished, and nuns are translated in the Krestovozdvizhensky monastery. In ten years the monastery has been restored on a former place under the name of Epiphany. Nowadays the monastery is operating.

Fire tower in Kostroma — one of sights of a city. It is located on the central area of a city. An outstanding monument of architecture of an epoch of classicism. The towerit has been constructed at the initiative of governor K. I.Baumgarten. Architect — P.I.Fursov. Building of the tower was conducted in 1824-1825, painting and decorating — in 1825-1827. In second half XIX centuries it was reconstructed. In 1870th years to the building a firemen depot was attached. Throughout all history the tower was used by fire service. In 2005 it has been transferred to the Kostroma memorial estate. Now in a building the museum is. The tower represents two-storied building with a classical portico. The building is topped by an octahedral tower.

The private residence is constructed under the project of architect N.I.Metlin in 1824. General S. Borshchov was the participant of a Patriotic War 1812. Therefore the decision to emphasise its front part was accepted and to place there an eight-columned portico of the Corinthian warrant. The lateral facade of a private residence leaves on the World prospectus in this connection the distinct from front, architectural decision - a four-columned portico makes. House of Borschov is the bright sample of the classicism, the largest manor of Kostroma. The structure consists of the main house and a wing adjoining it. The private residence is wooden, but after a fire was primary, on its place the new, stone house wasconstructed. Under the will of general-ieutenant l Borschev, after his death, the manor has taken over his son - valid councillor of state M.S.Borschev. A merchant of first guild A.A. Pervshinin has bought the house in the second half of 19 centuries. At various times the building was used as hotel "London", the profitable house, district court. The manor concerns samples of temple architecture of Kostroma of second half 18th - first half 19th centuries.
